After all the anticipation we finally found out who the Bears took with their second round picks. With the 43rd overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft, the Chicago Bears selected Cole Kmet Tight End from Notre Dame. And with the 50th pick in the 2020 NFL Draft, the Chicago Bears selected Jaylon Johnson Cornerback from Utah.
Let’s start with Cole Kmet. In my last Mock Draft on my Instagram page I had them picking Cole. This was a great pick for the Chicago Bears! They add to a deep Tight End room. Matt Nagy’s offense uses 2 Tight Ends a lot of the time, and him and Jimmy Graham are going to be a great duo! Last season at Notre Dame, Kmet had 6 touchdowns for 515 yards in 10 games. People were questioning this pick wondering why we didn’t draft an offensive lineman or confused because we signed Jimmy Graham, but Kmet is going to be the tight end of the future for the Bears. Many are comparing him to George Kittle of the 49ers, and from his college highlights they look really similar. This is a great pick for the Bears and the fans can’t wait to see him play!
Next let’s talk about Jaylon Johnson. He was projected to be a 1st round pick but fell to the Bears and he is a steal for them! Cornerback was a need for the Bears. Even though they have Kevin Toliver and Tre Roberson, Ryan Pace always said that you can never have enough corners. Jonson was an absolute beast at Utah! His final season there he only allowed 4 receptions, 10 yards on 31 targets! Those stats are off the charts and truly unbelievable! I think that he will come in and he will start he is that good. This was a great pick by Ryan Pace and he is going to be a great player for the Bears!
